Micro-Needling FAQs

  1. How does it feel?

Also known as micro-needling, skin needling involves the process of (you guessed it) tiny needles puncturing your skin. So while this may sound terrifying, it is an incredible way for skin to regenerate and renew itself.

Treatments are more comfortable when teamed with topical anaesthetic, however it is not necessary. Most clients do not use the topical anaesthetic and describe the feeling as a bit of pressure and mild tingling.

2. When will I see results?

Visible improvements can be seen in as little as 14 days post treatment. Deeper skin concerns such as uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and acne scaring will improve with the collagen regeneration process and are generally visible 2-4 weeks following treatment. The most dramatic results will occur 6-12 weeks after treatment.

3. What happens after my treatment?

Most clients experience redness and minor pin-point bleeding immediately after a skin needling session. Post treatment redness (appearance is similar to a mild sunburn) can last 1-3 days however it depends on what skin concerns are being treated.

4. How many treatments do I need?

Most clients will receive optimal results after 4- 6 treatments. We will discuss the number of treatments required to reach your skin health goals during your consultation.

5. What part of my body can I treat?

Skin needling is not only effective at treating certain skin conditions on the face, but also very effective in the treatment of stretch marks and scarring on any part of the body. Skin needling is also safe to perform on areas close to the eyes, such as when treating crows feet and frown lines.
